Kliko's in disguise

Ik denk dat iedereen ze wel heeft, van die lelijke vuilnistonnen of kliko's.

Wij hebben ze ook, en omdat we geen achterom hebben staan ze bij ons in de voortuin.

Een doorn in mijn oog, maar helaas kan het niet anders.

Ik hik er al 8 jaar tegenaan om iets te bedenken wat ik kan doen om ze uit het zicht te krijgen.

Zodra ik dit jaar vakantie heb (ga toch nergens heen) wil ik met planken een ombouw maken.

Om alles een beetje op te vrolijken heb ik nu 2 mooie plantenbakken gekocht. Foto's hiervan volgen snel !

I think that most of you have them, these ugly garbagebins.

We have them too, and because we don't have a separate entry to our backgarden (only acces through our home) they have found a place in our frontgarden. I really hate them.

They are a pain in the ..., but unfortunately this is the only way.

Since 8 years I want to do something about it, to get them out of sight.

As soon as I get my holiday this year (I am not going anywere), I want to make a construction around them so they are out of sight.

To make things nice, I allready bought 2 big flowerboxes, so the bins will be out of sight for now. Pics of these flowerboxes will follow soon !

Peonies - Pioenrozen

Ik heb mezelf getrakteerd op een bosje Pioenrozen, zachtroze van kleur.
Helaas willen de 2 struiken die ik in onze tuin heb staan nog geen knoppen geven (dit jaar geplant) dus ik moet nog geduld hebben als ik pioenrozen uit eigen tuin wil plukken.
Daarom koop ik nu maar af en toe een bosje...


Er zijn meer mensen die pioenrozen mooi vinden.
In maart 2008 heeft de Post in Canada deze mooie zegels uitgebracht.

I gave myself some peonies, softpink in color.

Unfortunately the 2 bushes we have in our garden did not want to blossom this year (I planted them a couple of months ago) so I have to be patient until next year before I can pick some peonies from our own garden.

That is why I buy them from time to time...

There are more people in love with peonies !

a little update on Honeybear...

Just thought I would show you how Honeybear looked like when I took him to my mom.
She was really touched by him and had to laugh, because I had made a bandage around his right leg... the knee-operation of my mom was also on the right ;-)
And what would a Honeybear be without a pot of honey ??
I gave him a tasty pot with the best Italian honey. I hope he likes it !

This little bear is called Honeybear.
He is being handmade by me, but he is not quite finished yet.
He misses a leg, his ears and his tummy has to be filled out.
But nevertheless, this little bear has dreams of his own, and allready explored the garden this morning to catch the first sunbeams, because they are magical and give you strenght !
My mother will be home from hospital today, after having surgery on her knee and I will make sure that Honeybear visits her tomorrow and helps her recover.
Isn't that what teddybears are all about ?

Meet Peaches from Little Handfuls Mini Bears

Vandaag heb ik virtueel kennis gemaakt met Liza, van het blog "Little Handfuls Mini Bears".

Zij maakt miniberen met vilt. Hoe de techniek precies is, dat weet ik ook niet, ik heb het zelf nog nooit gedaan. Maar als grote liefhebber van teddyberen, kon ik gewoon alleen maar met kwijl in mijn mond kijken naar haar creaties.

Neem een kijkje en als je wilt, doe dan mee met haar give-away.

De bovenstaande beer, genaamd Peaches is de prijs als je wint.

Hoe geweldig zou het zijn als Peaches naast Sweety in mijn kast kwam spelen ?

She make needle felted minibears. How the technique is, I don't know, I haven't done it myself. But as a great bearlover, I could only look at her bears with drule in my mouth.

Dit is een vilten replica van mijn poes "Sweet Home Alabama" gemaakt door Ellen Menses van Kattingen. Het is een broche die ik op kan spelden, maar ik vind het zonde om die te dragen en daarom heeft Sweety een speciaal plekje in mijn kast gekregen waar ik haar (veilig voor mijn katten) kan bewonderen !

This is a needle felted replica of my cat "Sweet Home Alabama" made by Ellen Menses from Kattingen. It is a broche that I can pin on, but I think it is a pitty to do that and that is why Sweety has a special place in my cupboard were I can admire her (and where she is safe for my cats) !
